Kids Shoes On Sale
Who in their right mind would not want to buy all of their kids shoes on sale. I know I don’t like
paying full retail price, especially since my kids go through shoes like candy on Halloween night.
But before you go out hunting for all those sales on kids shoes here are some tips for you spend
thrift parents.
You can often find shoes much cheaper online. However the difficulty with this is that you really
need to get your child’s foot measured before even thinking about ordering online. The simple way to do this
is to just head down to a local retailer and have them measure their feet. Or you can also measure feet at
home.
Make sure to have both feet measured as one foot is typically longer then the other. You always want
to buy shoes that accommodate the longest foot.
As a spendthrift parent it is always tempting to buy shoes that are too big for our kids. And it
makes total sense as they will grow into them very quickly. But don’t ever do this. You need to buy shoes
that fit them well. Not only can the larger shoes create a tripping hazard but they can also develop foot
problems. And the money you save on shoe sales could end up costing you much more in doctor bills.
Two very important points to look for in any pair of shoes you buy for your children are the toe
crunch and the heel.
There should be about a half inch of room from your kids to the end of the shoe. This allows for
some growth as well as making the shoe more comfortable.
The heel should be snug. It should not be to loose or too tight as both of these can cause problems
such as blisters.
Here are even more tips when finding kids shoes on sale.
I would highly recommend finding shoes that are breathable. Shoes made from leather or canvas are
great. This will help prevent smelly feet and shoes as well as athletes foot by keeping their feet
dry.
As cute and stylish as they may be, slip on and backless shoes are a no go for kids. Ever watched a
kid try to run in slip ons? Either they end up dragging their feet to keep them on or they end up losing one
and running on their socks.
Try and stay away from heels. Again there are all kinds of really cute kids shoes with heels but
they are difficult for kids to wear and they can also cause foot problems. Stick with flat soles.
Finally make sure your children are part of the shoe buying process. They need to tell you how they
feel, if they are comfortable, if they are tight or loose, if there is anything that is irritating inside the
shoe that may be poking or rubbing on their feet. And of course they need to be able to pick the shoes that
they like too.
